Volunteer Opportunities

Faith West has volunteer areas where your talents may be needed.

  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation:

This committee provides monthly “appreciation” lunches, special treats throughout the year and the End of the Year Luncheon. Luncheon duties include cooking, serving food and drinks, as well as setting up tables, decorating and clean up.

  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation Donation Only:

This is a perfect opportunity to volunteer for those who work outside the home or have small children and cannot commit to time at the school. Every month an email will be sent out through Sign Up Genius asking for various items to make the event successful. The items can be dropped off at the school at the Welcome Desk.

  • School Store:

This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who loves to see all the students. Volunteers assist students with making purchases at the school store during their lunch. Duties include helping students count money, assist with set up and packing up of store items, and patiently helping many little ones as they excitedly shop. Three volunteers are needed for each school store, which is held the first and third Wednesday of the month.

  • 2nd Time Around Uniform Sale:

Volunteers help sort new donations and are needed to set up for large events, such as the early bird sale in August and Orientation. One or two volunteers are also needed on a monthly basis to assist with the monthly uniform sales. Duties would include sorting, sizing and folding clothes, as well as helping shoppers find the correct items.

  • Father Daughter Dance:

This committee of volunteers help put on the annual Father Daughter Dance. There are opportunities to help with everything from decoration to food preparation. A special evening for our FWA daughters and their fathers! Meetings begin in November.

  • Blood Drive:

This committee is headed by Mrs. Martin who is in charge of the NHS. Parent Volunteers help the NHS students with three blood drives that we have each year. The duties for this is giving snacks out to the donors and helping with getting everyone signed up to donate.

  • Library/Book Fair:

The committee coordinator works with the Librarian in setting up volunteers to assist in the library by organizing, helping classrooms, and reading to the class. There is also the book fair and scheduling volunteers for working the fair. The co-coordinator is also responsible for helping to pack all unsold books.

  • Picture Day:

    Individual Pictures requires three volunteers.

  • Vision and Hearing Screening:

This only requires helping the school nurse with screening of the elementary children.
