Each year, Faith West students raise money in support of Living Water International, which provides clean water (and the message of living water!) to communities in need, all over the globe. What started as a desire to give back to the community during an elementary school musical turned into our first water well in Vialle Nuevo, El Salvador.
Members of the Faith West administrative team traveled to Vialle Nuevo in 2015 to participate in digging the well. They took with them Bibles and hygiene items (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, combs and brushes, hair accessories for girls, etc.) that were collected by Faith West Academy students and their families. At the site of the well, a plaque states that the well is dedicated “In the name of Jesus, given by Faith West Academy and Living Water International.”
In 2016 we returned to El Salvador with a group of six and in February of 2017 we took a group of 16 to Leon, Nicaragua, and were able to dig wells for two separate communities. Additional trips are planned for 2018 and 2019. The mission trips typically are open to sophomore, junior, and senior students. For more information please contact Melody Tryon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We raise money for Living Water International through collections at our weekly children’s chapels and with the help of collections from the Faith West Academy chapter of the National Honor Society.
