COVID Mitigation Plan 2021-2022 (Revised 12-29-2021)

The CDC currently recommends that anyone age 2 and older who is not vaccinated wear a mask while indoors. Any student, parent, teacher, or staff member who wishes to wear a mask will be encouraged to do so. At this time, Faith West Academy will not require anyone to wear a mask while indoors unless they are returning from a five-day quarantine.
COVID Prevention Measures:
  • The FWA campus will be deep cleaned every evening.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the campus.
  • We will continue to provide space between student desks and at lunch.
  • FWA will no longer be able to provide rapid testing on-campus for students and staff.  We are not comfortable with the new testing protocols and requirements.
  • We will continue to limit the number of visitors allowed on campus.
    • Parents/family members are allowed on campus for pre-planned volunteer activities
    • Parents/family members may attend chapel and sit in the balcony
COVID Mitigation Measures:
  • Students and staff should stay home when sick.
  • Any student or staff member with symptoms of COVID-19 will be required to quarantine at home for at least 5 days until asymptomatic OR test negative for COVID-19.
  • Any student or staff member who tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to quarantine at home for 5 days.  If asymptomatic, the student or staff may return to school on the 6th day wearing a mask through the 10th day.  Anyone who does not want to wear a mask can quarantine at home for the full 10 days.  If symptoms continue beyond the 5-day quarantine period, the individual should continue to quarantine at home until asymptomatic.
Quarantine and Contact Tracing
  • If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID, those who have been in close contact with that individual will be notified and their parents will decide if they need to quarantine.
