A Letter from Nurse Rice Regarding the Coronavirus

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Faith West Academy has been monitoring the announcements concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19) from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Organizations) over the past several weeks.  This week, Nancy Messonnier, director of the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, in reference to the spread of COVID-19 stated, “Ultimately, we expect we will see community spread in this country. It’s not so much a question of if this will happen anymore, but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen, and how many people in this country will have severe illness.”

The CDC has suggested that citizens start planning for a pandemic event; therefore, please click on the link below for suggestions on how to prepare for a pandemic. Please understand that this information is not being sent to cause fear but to inform our families–as President Trump requested—that FWA is staying abreast of the situation.

As new information becomes available, we will publish it on our website.
