The love I observed in my grandmothers taught me of service to others. The simple acts like the breakfasts, the dinners, the sewing, the warm comfy covers, the mending of broken feelings, the hope, upholding the family, the faith, and the approving smiles. I was so lucky to have had them in my life for forty years. When I catch myself doing something they would have done, I smile.

A friend of mine once told me that he was aware of the moment when he understood the Golden Rule. He said “I was driving and heard a siren. An ambulance passed me and I prayed, “Lord, please be with that person and their family.” It dawned on me that I had considered someone else’s well-being before my own.”
I was telling this story to my wife recently. We were in the car with both of our kids and I didn’t think that they were listening. As is so often the case, they were.
A few days later, we were all in the car again. Traffic suddenly slowed and, like most people do, I became agitated by the delay. As cars began to jockey for position, switching from lane to lane, I rode the bumper of the driver in front of me so that I didn’t lose any ground. My heart was racing, my hands were sweating, and I began “talking” to other drivers who weren’t following the rules of driving etiquette.

Thank you for using The Early Church Project "MyBlog"! The intent of this blog is for short written testimonies that demonstrate your love and service towards others. We also would like to record, audio/video testimonies that you might want to share. These testimonies can be accessed via the "AV Testimonies" link on the right side of the page.
