Early Church Project
The Early Church Project is an outreach initiative that can take a number of forms involving you, me, the community and this organization.Today a paradigm shift or redefining of the church as a whole, is necessary. For most, the modern church is a physical address on a Sunday morning where professional clergy and musicians present, for our enjoyment, a lecture and concert. We see our friends and learn important truths.
The Early Church Project views the world through the eye of Christ’s Great Commission, the world as a field and the church as a force and every believer is given on the job training as an essential part of the harvest team. A drastic shift in resources, including time talent and money is required to carry out the Early Church Initiative. That initiative is G.C.2 The Great Commandment and The Great Commission.
Love is the motivation, Discipleship is the mission and Life is the manifestation. The circle of spiritual Life is to reach, teach, train, and serve … to … reach, teach, train and serve. The truths learned in the modern church setting are made relevant in the MISSION. There is no other reality for the true church than in the counter cultural nature of a “Revelation Revolution.
Ongoing Projects… "The Crew" is an organized group of people ready to serve in a way that meets the specific needs of our community. Join "The Crew" today.
- Date Night Child Care - The Early Church Café group puts together "The Crew", offering the community free child care for K - 5th grade children.
- "Rock the Block" Block Party - What a great way to say "I want to get to know you". You plan a time, get your neighbors to bring the food & drinks and we'll supply the cooks, music and inflatables for the kids. Our "Rock the Block Wagon" and "The Crew" will arrive and we will be at your disposal, giving you time to visit with your neighbors.
- Not “Sunday Service” but “Service Sunday” - The Early Church Café group leads the charge in … “Be the Church Sunday.” Even if you choose Sunday as your day of worship it might be a good idea to join us in "Be the Church Sunday", reaching outside of the churches "four walls", allowing you to meet needs and touch hearts of the un-churched in the surrounding area. The “Be the Church Sunday” is a great way to introduce the church to the community.
- Child Protective Services (CPS) -We host an "Adoption Day" lake outing at least one time a year. The CPS will invite parents looking to adopt to our outing. The kids ranging in age from 8 to 16 years old get to have a "mini vacation day" in our water park and recreation area. We hope to play a small role in helping children get adopted.
- Blog – A place filled with short written and video testimonies and video discussions on a variety of life subjects. Here we welcome and encourage sharing your testimony.
- The Early Church … Being the Church … Your version? Your testimony….
- Nursing Home Ministry - This is an outreach that happens every two months on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday at the Oaks of Brookshire nursing home facility in Brookshire Texas. We start at 10:00 AM and sing 4 songs and a speaker will give an encouraging word to the residents that will last about 45 minutes to an hour or so. One on one ministry or just visiting the residents finishes out the morning. January 22, 2012 is next outreach. Stan Buck will be speaking.
- The Academy is involved in over 20 additional outreach projects every year.
I would like to suggest another "Being the Church" idea!
