It’s time to celebrate Go Texas Day on Friday, February 22. This is the day over 3,000 trail riders make their way to Memorial Park to kick off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Go Texan Day is the unofficial kickoff of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Traditionally held the Friday before the Rodeo begins, the day serves to encourage the Houston community to celebrate Western heritage and raise awareness of Rodeo season.
Students may wear their “western” attire. Jeans, western shirts, cowboy hats and boots may be worn. Remember that all FWA dress code rules apply (no rips, tears, or holes in jeans, modest shirts, etc.). Anything that can be considered a weapon will not be allowed (including toy guns, knives, spurs).
