Camp West Junior & Senior Counselors Wanted

Do you have great memories of summer camp? Did you tell yourself “I want to be a camp counselor one day?”  Well here’s your chance!!

Camp West is looking for junior and senior camp counselors for Camp West,  June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 15-19.  Hours of commitment are Monday 7:00-4:00 and Tuesday through Friday 7:45-4:00.

Senior Counselors – Entering Grades 11-12

Senior Counselor Application

Job Duties and Description
  • Lead campers through hands-on activities, labs, presentations, field trips, and experiments.
  • Ensure that campers at all times are supervised and maintain a safe and enjoyable camp environment.
  • BE ENERGETIC!
  • Act as a leader for all Junior Counselors, providing them with instructions for daily activities.
  • Keep track of each camper’s medical conditions and dietary needs
  • Keep track of supplies for camp and convey to the Camp Director any needs the camp has.
  • Perform head-counts of campers throughout the day.
  • Ensure campers are safe (properly hydrated, playing areas are free of hazards, etc.).
  • Interact with parents/guardians during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Assign duties to junior counselors for daily set-up and clean-up of the camp area.
  • Be prepared to show the love of Christ and be a friend to campers
Skills Required
  • Public speaking/singing
  • Organization
  • Leading small groups
  • CPR and Lifeguard certification preferred

  • Report directly to Senior Counselor
  • Keep constant headcount of campers in your tribe
  • Have a cheerful “Can do” attitude.
  • At all times act as a role model
  • BE ENERGETIC!
  • Ensure that campers at all times are supervised and maintain a safe and enjoyable camp environment.
  • Act as a leader for all new Junior Counselors, providing them with instructions for daily activities.
  • Aid senior counselors in tracking each camper’s medical conditions and dietary needs.
  • Keep track of supplies for camp and convey to the Senior Counselors and education department staff any needs the camp has.
  • Perform head-counts of participants throughout the day.
  • Ensure participants are safe (properly hydrated, playing areas are free of hazards, sunscreen application, etc.).
  • Interact with parents/guardians during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Daily set-up and clean-up of the camp activities area.
  • Carrying and keeping track of activity supplies throughout campus.
