GET FAFSA APPLICATION ASSISTANCE
AT FORT BEND COUNTY LIBRARIES
Fort Bend County Libraries will show the DVD, “FAFSA-Made-Easy,” at various locations throughout the library system in March. College-bound high school students and their parents are encouraged to attend this informative presentation on applying for student financial aid.
Completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form is the first step toward receiving any federal or state financial aid for college-bound individuals. This video presents financial-aid experts who will guide viewers through the application form and explain the financial-aid process.
The schedule of programs is as follows:
Tuesday, March 18, beginning at 7:00 pm, in the Meeting Room.
Thursday, March 27, beginning at 6:30 pm, in the Meeting Room.
Saturday, March 29, beginning at 11:00 am, in the Meeting Room.
Saturday, March 29, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Meeting Room.
Monday, March 31, beginning at 6:30 pm.
Worksheets are available at the library, or they can be downloaded from FAFSA’s webpage, http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/before012.htm. The actual application form may be completed online and submitted electronically, or a paper version may be obtained at the library and submitted by mail.
In order to complete the FAFSA, applicants will need the following items: driver’s license and social security card; W-2 forms and other records of money earned in 2007; 2007 US income-tax return (IRS Form 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, or 1040TEL); records of untaxed income (welfare, social security, and/or veterans benefits); current bank statements; current mortgage information (excluding primary home); business and farm records; and stocks, bonds and other investment records.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
